Methodology
How FAST scores, profiles and recommendations are created.
FAST scoring
Each factor is scored from 1 to 5. The maximum score is 20.
| Total | Recommendation | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| 16-20 | Strong candidate | Run a real-work test and set guardrails. |
| 11-15 | Worth testing | Investigate the lowest-scoring factor. |
| 6-10 | Low-stakes only | Use only for reversible, low-risk work. |
| 0-5 | Skip for now | Revisit the need or choose another tool. |
Evidence standard
Current facts such as pricing, plan limits, privacy settings and commercial rights should be checked against official provider sources and dated. Editorial scores should explain the task and assumptions behind the judgement.
Update policy
Profiles should display a last-reviewed date and be rechecked after material pricing, policy or product changes. Historical changes should be recorded rather than silently overwritten.
Conflicts and corrections
Affiliate links and sponsorships should be disclosed. Corrections should state what changed and when.
